Video 10.3: Compression ultrasound demonstrating a DVT in the left common femoral vein

 

When the vein is compressed, the walls of the vein remain separated due to the presence of the deep venous thrombosis (DVT). The DVT is hyperechoic (white) and is seen within the lumen of the vein.
